Children Choose Their Favorite Book

The Irma Black Award is unique in that children are the final judges of the book that wins the award.  Books under consideration for this award are those in which text and illustrations are inseparable. This years winners were just announced.

 The winner of the 2012 award is:
 What Animals Really Like by Fiona Robinson. 

The books which received the silver medal are:
You Will Be My Friend! by Peter Brown
I Want My Hat Back by Jon Klassen
All the Way to America: The Story of a Big Italian Family and a Little Shovel by Dan Yaccarino
